RED MOUSQE PANJUNAN
Good morning everybody
Welcome to
Cirebon and welcome to Red mosque panjunan.
Now, let’s me introduce my self. My name
is Pusfita Pebriyanti and I’m local guide here. .
I will accompany you to explorer this Red Mosque Panjunan.
Well, ladies and
gentlemen before we start our journey in this mosque, I just remember you that
this place has a rule, we can’t take a picture with odd number of people, I
hope you can understand it. Is it clear?
Now, please come along with me to the courtyard of this mosque.
Well ledies and gentleman,
Panjunan Red Mosque is
located on a street corner in the
village Panjunan, the village where
there are many ceramic artisans. Masjid Merah Panjunan is a mosque very old
age which was founded in 1480 by Syarif Abdurrahman or Prince
Panjunan, a group
of Arab descent who lead immigrant from Baghdad,
and later became
a disciple of Sunan Gunung Jati.
Red Mosque Panjunan made of red brick

revealed the influence of the Hindu Majapahit era
are scattered in
many districts of
Cirebon.
Well ledies and gentleman..
This is the main room
and the only one in
the Red Mosque Panjunan, whose ceiling is supported
by more than five
pairs of wood pillars. Base with the pillars
also shows the
influence of the old culture.
While ceramics are
attached to the walls show the influence
of Chinese and European cultures in
the mosque which was originally
named al-Athyah
this. Some Chinese-made
ceramic attached to the wall is said to be part of
the gift when Sunan Gunung Jati is married
to Tan Hong Tien Nio. Maybe only in Cirebon that
a mosque like
this Panjunan Red
Mosque mihrab on the building,
the part that shows the direction of
Qiblah, decorated with beautiful ceramic.

beautiful Arabic calligraphy
that reads Allah and
Muhammad on the
left and right front wall of the Red Mosque Panjunan, as many other mosques
found in the building.
The Red Mosque Panjunan,
the writing at the top of the mihrab in a small
box-shaped diamond. That appeared to function as Soko Guru, who in most
other traditional buildings are placed in the position
of the rectangle. Pilar other timber rectangular
shape as his
bases.

There are also beam and part
of the roof of the Red Mosque Panjunan
recently uploaded to the symmetrical arrangement
of timber and rectangular beam is
ramping up in the
middle of the leaf ornament on edges.
Drum and gong
Panjunan Red Mosque which is located to the left of the room, next to a
tomb is not known who the residents. Maybe this
is a cultural
approach used in
the propagation of Islam at the
time.

Alright, back to
the Wihara Dewi Welas Asih. It’s one of the biggest temple in Cirebon. This
place is very unique because there are many lampion when Imlek and then
Barongsai Performance. But everyone because it isn’t Imlek so Barongsai
Performance isn’t perform but don’t worry beside that, there are so many pillar
and big candle and also find out the history of this place.
Well everyone, now we are arrive
